Gujarat Titans chased down the target of 156 runs in 15.5 overs on Thursday (April 30) to secure a much-needed win by four wickets over Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2026 match at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. GT bowled RCB out for just 155 runs in 19.3 overs after opting to bowl first and then, despite losing wickets at regular intervals, sealed the deal.
The win over RCB in front of home fans has now extended GT’s tally of points to 10 in IPL 2026, but they remain 5th in the points table. On the other hand, RCB also retained 2nd position in the IPL 2026 points table despite suffering a heavy defeat.

Orange Cap
Sunrisers Hyderabad batters Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen
take the top-two positions in the Orange Cap race. They have scored 425 and 414 runs, respectively, in nine matches for the Hyderabad-based franchise. RR’s Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who will be in action on Friday (May 1), is third in the list of batters with the most runs in IPL 2026. The 15-year-old left-handed batter from Bihar has scored 400 runs in nine matches for Riyan Parag’s men.
RCB superstar Virat Kohli played a knock of 28 runs from 13 balls in the RCB-GT match, and GT skipper Shubman Gill made 43 runs from 18 balls. They now have 379 and 373 runs to their credit, respectively, in IPL 2026, and they take the 4th and 5th positions in the Orange Cap race.
GT opener Sai Sudharsan, who could only manage to score 6 runs in the 156-run chase for GT against RCB, remains 8th in the Orange Cap leaderboard, but he now has extended his tally of runs to 328 from 322.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled four overs for RCB against GT on Thursday and picked up 3 wickets for 28 runs in four overs. The three wickets by the Meerut-born cricketer failed to help RCB get the better of GT, but it helped him to retake the No. 1 position in the Purple Cap leaderboard. In the ongoing 2026 edition of IPL, Bhuvneshwar has picked up 17 wickets in nine matches. He is followed by SRH fast bowler Eshan Malinga (15 wickets in nine matches).
Three bowlers – Jofra Archer of RR, Anshul Kamboj of CSK and GT’s Kagiso Rabada – have dismissed 14 batters each in IPL 2026, and LSG’s Prince Yadav takes 6th position in the Purple Cap race with 13 wickets in eight matches.
