The project is part of the state government’s broader efforts to improve urban mobility in fast-growing parts of Bengaluru. With North Bengaluru seeing rapid residential and commercial development, the infrastructure upgrade is seen as timely and necessary.
The Bangalore Development Authority also shared an update, calling it a positive step for the city. “Good news for North Bengaluru! From today, the newly built loop at the Hebbal Flyover by the Bangalore Development Authority is open to the public, promising smoother rides, faster commutes, and relief from traffic bottlenecks. A step forward towards a more connected, commuter-friendly Bengaluru.”
The newly built loop offers signal-free movement towards Mekhri Circle, reducing long waiting times and frequent traffic snarls that motorists have faced for years at the Hebbal junction. It will also help vehicles to move freely through the corridor, especially during peak hours.
People travelling from Yelahanka, Jakkur, Sahakar Nagar and along Tumkur Road are likely to benefit the most. Traffic officials say the new loop will take some load off the existing roads and make everyday travel quicker and less stressful.
