Working with celebrities involves far more than putting together glamorous red-carpet looks. Behind every polished appearance are hours of fittings, styling sessions, wardrobe planning and careful handling of designer pieces worth thousands of dollars.
Celebrity fashion stylist Cary Tauben recently shared his experience of working with Priyanka Chopra during the filming of Quantico, recalling both positive interactions and moments that caught him off guard.
Cary Tauben Reflects On Working With Priyanka Chopra
Speaking on a podcast with Tory Morton, Tauben revealed that he was hired to style Priyanka Chopra while she was filming the hit American thriller series Quantico in Montreal. His responsibilities also included styling several background actors appearing on the show.
Looking back on their time
working together, Tauben had plenty of good things to say about the actor. “She was super nice to me and she really liked me,” he shared, explaining that he worked hard to make sure she looked her best for the camera.
At the time, Priyanka was balancing a thriving Bollywood career while establishing herself in Hollywood, with Quantico becoming one of her most significant international projects.
‘She Would Take A Givenchy Shoe And Kick It’
While praising Priyanka’s friendly nature, Tauben admitted there were moments during fittings that surprised him. “While we were doing fittings, she was a little bit rough on the clothing, which I personally thought was disrespectful,” he said.
The stylist explained that many of the garments, shoes and accessories used during fittings had been sourced from luxury fashion houses and premium boutiques, making them particularly valuable and delicate. Recalling one incident that stood out, he said, “She would take a Givenchy shoe and kick it to the side.” The moment left an impression on him because of the cost and exclusivity of the item. “And I was like, these shoes are like $1,000 (approx ₹95,000),” he added.
Despite those moments, Tauben’s overall recollection of working with Priyanka remained positive. Throughout the conversation, he emphasised that the actor was warm, appreciative and pleasant to work with. At the time, Priyanka was filming Quantico in Montreal, playing FBI recruit-turned-agent Alex Parrish. The role proved to be a major milestone in her career, making her one of the first Indian actors to headline a mainstream American network drama and helping cement her place in Hollywood.
