Comedian Pranit More has issued another public apology as the controversy surrounding his viral crowdwork clips continues to escalate. The backlash began after a now-deleted video from one of his shows featured an audience member making a misogynistic remark implying that spending ₹370 on a date entitled him to physical intimacy, while More was criticised for laughing instead of challenging the comment. Despite an earlier apology and the removal of the clip, fresh scrutiny over other viral segments from his shows has kept the controversy alive, prompting the comedian to once again address the issue and express regret over his actions.
A while ago, Pranit More, who had deactivated his Instagram handle recently, restored the same to post the apology.
In the video, he can be heard asking people to give him one more chance. He also said that he will work on his content going forward. He revealed that his Instagram handle was “suspended” while clarifying his absence from the photo-sharing app. Calling his actions a “lapse in judgment,” he said it was a “big mistake.”
While addressing the people in Hindi, he said in the video, “This is something I wanted to say for a long time, but my Instagram was suspended. Many of you might have seen my crowd work video, for which I have been receiving a lot of hate. I feel I deserve this hate. Because while I was doing crowd work with that guy, he said many derogatory things, but everyone was laughing. I got carried away, and it was a lapse in judgment. I feel this was a big mistake on my part. I could have stopped him there or taken a stand, but I didn’t. I gave him a platform, which caused things to escalate. To anyone who was hurt because of this, I want to apologize. Whatever legal proceedings are happening against me, I am cooperating with the authorities. I only request all of you to please give me a chance. I will become a better person. This was a learning experience for me. I am working on myself, I will work on my content, and you will be able to see this in my work in the future.” Have a look:
Soon after he shared the video, he was seen receiving support from his Bigg Boss 19 contestants. Kunickaa Sadanand called him a “good boy” and asked him to stay strong. Her comment read, “Everyone makes mistakes, but not everyone has the courage to own it. @rj_pranit you are a good boy, with right values, but as i always said roasting or crowd work can carry you away, especially as an entertainer, when you see ppl reacting and laughing. I hope ppl forgive you, and i also hope ppl change their attitude towards women/girls. You were not the cause of a generational mindset, you were one of the many who inherited this mindset from generations of objectification. God bless you, i’m sure you will be back with brilliant content. stay strong stay mindful.”
Shehnaaz Gill’s brother Shehbaz Badesha commented, “u r best bro galti maaf krne vale bade hote hai. u accepted thats great.” Kishwer Merchantt wrote, “Am sure people will forgive you , just be mindful and very careful of the content and crowdwork u do ! Stay strong !”
Meanwhile, Pranit More is currently being investigated by legal authorities. The controversy has only intensified as older clips from his stand-up shows have resurfaced online, triggering fresh criticism and raising questions about the comedian’s conduct on stage.
