A violent road rage incident shook Tilak Nagar’s Mall Road in west Delhi late on Thursday, when the family of Abhinav Arora — the widely followed child spiritual storyteller — was targeted by a mob.
Around 10 pm, Abhinav’s father was driving his car through the busy Tilak Nagar Main Market, near Singla Restaurant, when his vehicle grazed a motorcycle. What began as a minor collision quickly spiralled into a full-blown attack.
How Did The Violence Escalate?
The motorcyclists, alleging rash driving, immediately started an argument. The dispute turned physical and then destructive — the aggressors wielded a heavy metal bracelet, using it to smash the car’s bonnet and shatter its windows. The brazen vandalism, carried out in a crowded market area, sent bystanders fleeing and left
the neighbourhood tense for hours.
Was Abhinav Arora In The car?
No. Both the family and Delhi Police confirmed that Abhinav was not present at the time. Only his father and other family members were in the vehicle. Mercifully, no one sustained physical injuries.
What Did Abhinav Say?
Abhinav Arora shared a video of the attack on his Instagram account. He also posted lines from a poem touching on the perils of silence in the face of violence — a move that briefly fuelled speculation about a communal angle to the incident.
Abhinav subsequently clarified that the incident should not be linked to any religion or community, and expressed deep respect for the Sikh faith. Delhi Police’s DCP also confirmed there is no communal angle, warning that strict action would be taken against those spreading false information.
What Action Did Police Take?
Abhinav’s father immediately called the Police Control Room (PCR). A team from Tilak Nagar Police Station arrived swiftly, brought the situation under control, and detained the accused.
Delhi Police arrested three accused and sent them to Tihar Jail. The trio were produced in court on Wednesday and remanded to two days of judicial custody.
