After reports came in that Ranveer Singh has quit Farhan Akhtar’s much-anticipated action thriller Don 3, rumours spread that the actor took this step after the success of Dhurandhar. But now, an update
suggests that there is no truth to these claims. As per a new report, it has been said that, “Ranveer Singh hasn’t walked out of Don 3 like the rumour mills claim.”
As per India Today’s source, “It’s actually an entirely different story. To start with, Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar offered him Don 3 after he had delivered three colossal flops. They stood by him even after Sanjay Leela Bhansali shelved Baiju Bawra because he was considered not saleable at the time.”
“Don 3 is the hottest franchise, and Ranveer was stepping into the legendary shoes of not just Shah Rukh Khan, but also Amitabh Bachchan. It is a dream role for any actor,” the source further added. While talking about how Farhan had trusted Ranveer before the Dhurandhar release, the source said, “Farhan was the only filmmaker who put his trust in Ranveer when others had backed out. This was also at a time when Dhurandhar hadn’t even released.”
While further clarifying the rumours, the source confirmed that Ranveer’s exit has nothing to do with Dhurandhar’s success and that he decided to let go of Don 3 only because of creative differences. The exit was a result of differences with the makers over demands, not a voluntary move.
There has been no official confirmation from either Ranveer Singh or the production team so far. However, the reported exit marks a notable turn for Don 3, which has already seen changes in its casting. Earlier, Kiara Advani had stepped away from the film following her pregnancy and the birth of her child, after which Kriti Sanon reportedly came on board.
Meanwhile, away from work, Ranveer Singh and his wife, actor Deepika Padukone, were spotted late Monday night at the Mumbai airport as they headed out for a vacation. The couple, twinning in black outfits, were seen holding hands and smiling as they waved at the cameras before entering the airport.
