Purnima Tiwari is an Indian actress who has steadily built her career through supporting parts across different formats.
She appeared as Avantika in Why Cheat India in 2019. A year later, she was seen as Gudiya in Raat Akeli Hai, the crime thriller starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte. She subsequently played Sunayna in Hurdang in 2022 and Neelu in the 2023 legal drama Lakeerein.
Purnima has also worked in the OTT space. She was part of Netflix’s Choona in 2023. Television viewers may recognise her as Anvi Bhosle from Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, a role she played during 2023-24. She later appeared as Anjali in Pyaar Kii Raahein in 2025.

Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, Hanuman Ansh chronicles the life and spiritual journey of Neem Karoli Baba, who is widely known among his followers as Maharaj-ji. Shobhinaw Satyaa essays the central role, while Purnima portrays his wife, Rambeti Sharma.
Her character appears in the portion of the story that explores Maharaj-ji’s family life and his relationship with Rambeti.
Purnima’s physical transformation for the film has also become a talking point following its release. Her restrained appearance as Rambeti is strikingly different from the actress seen in her photographs and videos outside the film. The contrast has prompted viewers discovering her through Hanuman Ansh to look up the person behind the character.

Purnima Was Initially Considered For A Different Hanuman Ansh Role
Purnima did not initially come into Hanuman Ansh as Rambeti.
Producer Anupriya Nagar later revealed that the actress had first been considered for the role of Parvati Mai. Purnima, however, was interested in playing Rambeti, and she eventually landed the character.
Nagar also recalled watching Purnima perform an emotionally demanding sequence opposite Shobhinaw Satyaa as Neem Karoli Baba. The scene reportedly offered her little dialogue, leaving much of the moment dependent on her expressions.
The casting eventually gave Purnima an important place in the more personal passages of Maharaj-ji’s story, with Rambeti emerging as her most widely noticed film character to date.
Purnima Tiwari And The Viral ‘Jab Zid Pe Aa Gayi Parvati’ Song
Interest in Purnima has grown further alongside the viral run of Parvati. Shobhinaw Satyaa and Purnima are among the actors credited with the song, which approaches the story of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati through Bundeli folk storytelling.
Instead of functioning as a straightforward devotional number, Parvati builds itself around the Saptarishis trying to persuade Goddess Parvati not to marry Shiva.
The sages question her determination by pointing towards everything that makes Shiva an unconventional prospective husband. He lives as an ascetic, has matted hair, wears snakes and remains detached from possessions and ordinary domestic life. Parvati, however, refuses to reconsider her decision.
That exchange gives the track both its humour and its instantly memorable opening, “Jab zid pe aa gayi Parvati.”
Written, composed and sung by Sadhu S. Tiwari, the song has subsequently travelled across YouTube, Instagram Reels and other social-media platforms, becoming one of the most recognisable musical pieces associated with Hanuman Ansh.
