Chandigarh, May 23 (PTI) Aimed at strengthening professional skills, ethical standards, and practical competencies of mediators, the mediation and conciliation centre of the Punjab and Haryana High Court has conducted a refresher training programme for them.
The training programme for empanelled mediators, organised under the aegis of the Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC) of the Supreme Court, was held in five batches from May 6 to 23 at the Chandigarh Judicial Academy, an official statement said.
The sessions focused on evolving trends in mediation, recent legal developments, ethics and confidentiality, communication and negotiation skills, drafting of settlement agreements, and effective techniques for amicable settlement of disputes,
it said.
Senior trainers and mediation experts, who came from different parts of the country, shared their experience, practical insights, and best practices in the field of mediation and alternative dispute resolution.
The programme also included role plays, simulation exercises, group discussions, and case study analysis to provide practical exposure to the participants.
A special emphasis was laid on party-centric and interest-based mediation approaches, in line with the provisions of the Mediation Act, 2023, and contemporary judicial trends promoting alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, the statement said. PTI CHS ARI ARI
