Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti heaped praise on teenage sensation Estevao, who netted in the South American side’s 2-0 win over Senegal on Sunday.
Strikes from Estevao and Casemiro helped the Canarinhos
register a win over the Lions of Teranga and Ancelotti showered the 18-year-old with praise.
“Estevao has incredible amount of talent. It’s a surprise this level at his age,” Ancelotti said.
“He’s good at finishing, has a lot of ‘magic’… and he works very hard,” the Italian continued.
“I can say this: with Estevao, Brazil have guaranteed future,” the Brazilian boss added.
The win marked the five-time World Cup champions’ first triumph against their African opponents and Carlo Ancelotti’s fourth victory in seven matches as Brazil coach.
The performance showcased Ancelotti’s influence on the team, with improved defensive discipline complementing their attacking flair.
However, Brazil had an injury scare to contend with as Gabriel Magalhaes was forced off.
“Bad? I don’t know, he had a problem with his adductor; the medical staff have to check tomorrow,” Ancelotti said.
“We are really sorry for this, really disappointed. When players have an injury, I hope they can recover well and soon,” the former Real Madrid boss added.
Ancelotti is using these friendlies to shape his squad for the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in Canada, Mexico, and the United States. Brazil next faces Tunisia in another friendly at Lille on Tuesday.
