Kalki 2898 AD Director Nag Ashwin and Priyanka Dutt Are Expecting Their Second Child

Kalki 2898 AD director Nag Ashwin has announced happy news with his fans. The director has taken to his Instagram to announce that he is all set to embrace fatherhood yet again, as he and his wife, Priyanka Dutt, are all set to welcome their second baby after their firstborn, Rishi.

Nag Ashwin took to his Instagram and shared a picture in which, dressed in white ensembles, he, along with his wife and son, posed for the camera. While he didn’t attach a long caption to the post and just dropped a red heart and evil eye emoji, Priyanka’s baby bump confirmed that the couple are all set to embrace parenthood again.

As soon as Ashwin shared the picture on his Instagram, fans started reacting to it. One wrote, “Ooooo!

Nag Ashwin on the work front

Kalki 2898 AD sequel is one of the most awaited films, and Nag Ashwin is currently busy working on it. During the post-release promotions of Sing Geetham, Nag Ashwin shared a major update on the second installment. “We might start the regular shoot either in August or September. That’s the update for now. Hopefully, we will work for a long stretch and complete most of the filming. Most of it has already been prepped, and the writing is done. So, it will be a much faster process,” said Nag Ashwin.

In September 2025, the makers of the Prabhas starrer took to their official X handle and announced Deepika’s exit from the film. The announcement stated that Deepika is no longer a part of the project because a film like Kalki “deserves commitment”.

“This is to officially announce that @deepikapadukone will not be a part of the upcoming sequel of #Kalki2898AD. After careful consideration, we have decided to part ways. Despite the long journey of making the first film, we were unable to find a partnership. And a film like @Kalki2898AD deserves that commitment and much more. We wish her the best with her future works,” it read.

Till now, fans are awaiting confirmation on who will be replacing the actress in the film.
