The UAE welcomed New Year 2026 with a spectacular display of fireworks and light shows that illuminated the skies from Abu Dhabi to Fujairah. A massive drone show featuring 6,500 drones flying simultaneously for 20 minutes was one of the many programmes featured in the New Year celebrations.
The Al Wathba area in Abu Dhabi hosted one of the largest New Year’s Eve celebrations in the country. The Supreme Organising Committee of the Sheikh Zayed Festival prepared an extraordinary programme that featured the longest and grandest fireworks displays, the world’s biggest drone shows, and a variety of cultural activities, showcasing UAE’s pavilions, sponsors, and strategic partners.
The festival showcased an unparalleled fireworks display lasting over
an hour. Several videos of the extravaganza celebration are going viral on social media and netizens are awestruck with the visuals.

In Dubai, the emirate’s skyline was illuminated by over 48 fireworks displays across 40 locations, managed by the Security Industry Regulatory Agency in collaboration with relevant authorities. These displays enabled residents and visitors to enjoy a variety of celebrations at the emirate’s most iconic tourism and entertainment landmarks.
These locations included iconic sites such as Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab, Dubai Frame, Expo City Dubai, Global Village, Bluewaters, Al Seef, Dubai Festival City, Hatta, Atlantis The Palm, and Marsa Al Arab, along with several other popular destinations.
