Rakhi Sawant has once again jumped into the middle of a Bollywood controversy. This time, she’s defending her favourite “Bhai,” Salman Khan, with all guns blazing. The actress slammed filmmaker Abhinav Kashyap after he levelled fresh allegations against Salman and his family. Rakhi accused Abhinav of spreading lies for money and even claimed he behaved inappropriately on the sets of Dabangg.
In a recent chat with Hindi Rush, Rakhi went on a full-blown rant, warning Abhinav in her typically dramatic fashion. “Tu jidhar bhi mila takle, tujhe chappal se maaroongi. Koi to Dabangg film mein director liya tha usko. Pata nahi kaun hai wo, hum to naam nahi lenge. Meri juban kharab nahi karoongi us takle ka naam lekar,” she said.
Continuing her defence
of the superstar, Rakhi painted a picture of Salman as someone deeply principled and misunderstood. “Bhai (Salman) ko na kissing pasand hai, na kissing scene pasand hai. Jeete ji dharti pe devta hai wo,” she said, insisting that Salman has always been respectful towards women and his colleagues.
Rakhi didn’t stop there, she accused Abhinav of misconduct on set, claiming, “Ladkibazi shuru kar diya tha usne,” and alleged that he was removed from the project after misusing Salman’s resources. She even hinted that Abhinav might have been influenced by “Salman ke dushman,” suggesting that outside forces could be paying him to defame the actor.
Rakhi also made a bold declaration of loyalty, saying, “Main Salman ke saath apni gardan bhi katwa sakti hoon.” She said Salman has always gone out of his way to help struggling artistes, and instead of gratitude, he often gets dragged into controversies by those seeking attention.
For a long time now, Dabangg director Abhinav Kashyap has been making several claims against Salman Khan and his family. In a recent interview with Bollywood Thikana too, Abhinav called Salman Khan ‘insecure’ and claimed that the Bollywood superstar cut brother Arbaaz Khan’s role in his 2010 movie. Kashyap went on to claim that the actor-brothers even had a massive fight on the sets and added that Salman ‘hates’ Arbaaz.
“Salman used to come in my room at 1:30 am. He came and saw that Arbaaz has a chase sequence in the film, and he removed it completely. He has insecurity. He wanted to be seen,” the director said.
He further talked about the relationship between Salman and Arbaaz and added, “These brothers hate each other, but I don’t know why they live together. It’s a very difficult family to understand. Arbaaz must have questioned Salman in private about his cut role, but they didn’t fight in front of me.”
“But once Arbaaz and Salman had a fight in front of me during which Salman threw utensils and I got scared. He told Arbaaz, ‘I won’t think bad of you.’ I tried to prevent the fight, but Salman told me, ‘You are not even here.’ So he told me to stay out of it,” Kashyap claimed.
Abhinav also claimed that Salman once kidnapped the film’s editor to control the film’s final cut. “Salman kidnapped my editor and the editing machine and took him to his farmhouse. He then allowed him to return only after the editor explained to him about voltage fluctuation at the farmhouse. Salman also once warned my editor, saying that if the director teases with the film, I will push cylinder in his back,” he said.
