A brief scuffle broke out between passengers at Lucknow Airport on Saturday as frustration continued to rise amid IndiGo’s ongoing mass cancellations. Videos from the terminal showed travellers arguing and pushing one another while waiting for updates on their flights.
Airport staff and security personnel intervened to calm the situation, as long queues and repeated delays tested the patience of stranded passengers.
Airfares Capped After Sharp Spike
Amid the disruption, the government stepped in to address soaring airfares on affected routes. Officials announced that ticket prices would remain capped between Rs 7,500 and Rs 18,000, depending on the flight distance. The decision was taken to prevent overcharging during a period when thousands of
travellers were struggling to secure seats.
The cap will remain in place until operations stabilise.

IndiGo’s Widespread Cancellations
Not just Lucknow Airport—reports of unrest have come in from several major airports across the country. Frustration among passengers has spilled over as widespread management lapses by the airline have triggered confusion, long waits, and moments of chaos.
The airline has cancelled hundreds of flights over several days, including more than 1,000 flights on Friday alone, leaving passengers stranded across major airports.
IndiGo has said the disruptions are linked to ongoing roster and crew-related issues, and the airline has warned that delays may continue for a few more days.
