While the excitement for Ramayana is at its peak, producer Namit Malhotra recently shared a heartfelt post for Rocking Star Yash as the actor celebrated his 40th birthday. Responding to the gesture, Yash also
expressed his delight to the producer.
Taking to his social media, Yash shared a picture with Ramayana producer Namit Malhotra and wrote, “Thank you, Namit. It’s been an incredible journey to where we stand today. There is a sense of pride in partnering with a visionary like you; we’ve come a long way toward our sole goal, and this year is the turning point we’ve been working for.”
He continued, “I believe we are on the verge of firmly placing Indian cinema on the global map. Having you by my side through this evolution is something I value deeply. Let’s keep changing the game together🤝”
For the unversed, Yash will be seen playing the role of Ravan in Ramayana and has already wrapped up shooting for the movie. The Nitesh Tiwari directorial will also star Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi as Ram and Sita, respectively.
Last year, a teaser of the much-awaited film was also released. It began from the roots – the trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva who rule the world. With striking animation, the video then introduced characters from Ramayana – Lord Rama played by Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana.
Interestingly, Yash is also one of the producers of the movie. In April 2025, the actor opened up about co-producing Ramayana when he told Variety, “It has been my long-term aspiration to make films that will showcase Indian cinema on a global level. In pursuit of that, I was in L.A. to ally with one of the best VFX studios, and to my amazement, the driving force behind it was a fellow Indian. Namit and I had various ideation sessions, and coincidentally, our synergy on the vision for Indian cinema aligned perfectly. We brainstormed various projects, and during these discussions, the subject of ‘Ramayana’ came up. Namit had a part of it in the works.”
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in association with eight-time Oscar-winning DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, the two-part epic will release worldwide in IMAX — Part 1 in Diwali 2026 and Part 2 in Diwali 2027.
