Recently, the makers announced Kannada actress Bhoomi Shetty as the female lead of the film.

Who Is Bhoomi Shetty?

Born in Karnataka, Bhoomi began her acting career with dailysoap Ninne Belladatta. She also finished fourth on Bigg Boss Kannada 7.

The actress made her big screen debut with the 2021 film Ikkat, alongside Nagabhushana. Following her debut, she appeared in Telugu films like Chaitanya Rao Madadi’s Sharathulu Varthisthai and Vijay Deverakonda’s action drama, Kingdom.

On Thursday, the makers of Mahakali dropped Bhoomi’s first-look poster from the film, sending her fans into a frenzy. It features the actess in the Goddess Kali avatar; her face is painted black and her eyes show a serious expression.

Directed by Puja Aparna Kolluru, who made the Telugu political satire Martin Luther King, the upcoming mythological drama will also feature Akshaye Khanna in the lead roles. With this, he will be making his Telugu debut.

In Mahakali, Akshaye will be seen playing the role of Asuraguru Shukracharya. Recently, Varma also shared the first look poster of the actor from the film on X and wrote, “In the shadows of gods, rose the brightest flame of rebellion. The shooting for Mahakali is currently going on in full swing. It is expected to hit the big screens next year.

Apart from this, another project under Prasanth Varma’s Cinematic Universe (PVCU) includes Jai Hanuman, a sequel to Teja Sajja’s HanuMan, which will feature Rishab Shetty playing the Hindu deity.
