The Centre on Monday said it has invited more than 10,000 special guests from across the country to witness the 77th Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path in the national capital.
According to a press note issued by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), the guests have been drawn from different walks of life and include people who have made notable contributions in income and employment generation, innovation, research, social service and grassroots development.
The government said the initiative is aimed at honouring “nation-building and increasing Jan Bhagidari in events of national importance.”
Who Are The Special Guests?
As per the release, the list of invitees includes winners of the World Athletic Para Championship and athletes who have won medals
in international sports tournaments. Farmers practising natural farming and best-performing farmers who received support under the Pulses Self-Reliance Mission for cultivating pulses, oilseeds and maize have also been invited.
The guests further include transgenders and beggars rehabilitated under the PM SMILE scheme, beneficiaries of the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, and trained MAITRI professionals providing animal husbandry services in rural areas.
Scientists and technical experts associated with major missions such as ISRO’s Gaganyaan and Chandrayaan, the Deep Ocean Mission, and key DRDO projects are part of the list. Innovators and researchers in isotope production, biotechnology, semiconductors and green hydrogen have also been invited, along with start-ups and MSMEs supported under various government programmes.
Women-led Self Help Groups, Lakhpati Didis, women artisans trained under Khadi Vikas Yojana and Mahila Coir Yojana, women entrepreneurs supported through PM Mudra Yojana, and beneficiaries of PM Awaas Yojana (Grameen) and Jal Jeevan Mission will attend the parade.
The press note further noted that street vendors under PM SVANidhi, unorganised workers under PM Shramyogi Maandhan, Anganwadi workers, water warriors of the Clean Ganga mission, construction workers from BRO and Kartavya Bhawan, My Bharat volunteers, NDMA workers, and beneficiaries from the North Eastern region have also been invited.
Foreign delegates under the Youth Exchange Programme 2026, monk delegations attending the Global Buddhist Summit, and winners of the Junior International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics 2025 will also be present.
“These special guests will be prominently seated at Kartavya Path. In addition to the celebrations, arrangements have been made for the special guests to visit the National War Memorial, PM Sangrahalay and other prominent places in Delhi,” the PIB press note said. It added that the guests will also get an opportunity to interact with the concerned ministers.
