Chess legend Gary Kasparov too to social media platform X, formely Twitter, to send a cryptic message following his win at the Clutch Chess: Legends 2025 edition at St.Louis, Missouri, USA.
Kasparov, who has been a critic of the Russian government, likened the pursuits of chess to that of life and the unfortunate irony in the latter.
“If you don’t respect the truth of the game of chess, don’t expect it to reward you for long,” the 62-year-old said.
“I wish “life imitates chess” in this way, but unfortunately we see every day that dishonesty can be profitable in other pursuits,” the legendary chess GM added.
