Ward No. 217 (D Ward) is one of the 227 wards of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), India’s largest Municipal Corporation. This ward is reserved for General and has a total population of 57385, of which 1231 belong to the Scheduled Castes and 149 belong to the Scheduled Tribes.

The gazette notification for the BMC Ward No. 217 (D Ward) was issued on December 15, 2025 (Monday), the last date of scrutiny of nominations was December 31, 2025 (Wednesday) and the last date of withdrawal of nominations was January 2, 2026 (Friday). This ward voted on Thursday, January 15, 2026 and the counting of votes is happening on Friday, January 16, 2026.

The extent of the ward as published in the Maharashtra Government Gazette is as follows: A line starting from the Junction of Western Railway Lines and Allibhai Premji Road at Grant Road Railway Station and running eastwards along the southside of Allibhai Premji Road upto its Junction with Balaram Street at Rusi Mehta Chowk; thence southwards along the Westside of Balaram Street upto its Junction with Maulana Shaukatali Road; thence eastwards along the southside of Maulana Shaukatali Road upto its junction with Patthe Bapurao Marg; thence southwards along the westside of Patthe Bapurao Road upto its junction with Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Road; thence westwards and southwards along the northside of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Road upto its junction with sea-shore across Netaji Subhash Road and excluding Mafatlal Swimming Pool; thence westwards along the sea-shore upto its Junction with Babulnath Road across N.A. Purandare Road and covering Chowpaty at B.R. PREVIOUS BMC ELECTION RESULT
The last Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections were held on February 21, 2017, in which Shiv Sena was the single largest party with 84 seats, while the Bharatiya Janata Party won 82 seats. Indian National Congress secured 31 seats, Nationalist Congress Party won nine, and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena won seven seats. Other parties included Samajwadi Party, which won six seats; the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen won two seats and the Akhil Bhartiya Sena won a single seat. Five Independent candidates also won seats in the election.
