Karan Johar is ‘looking forward’ to Sriram Raghavan’s upcoming movie, Ikkis, which will also star late actor Dharmendra. On Thursday, KJo talked about the movie during the trailer launch of Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri and shared that the film will be very special since it marks Dharmendra’s last appearance on the big screen.
“I am looking forward to watching Ikkis. It is such a special film to all of us. For me, for personal reasons. We have such great regards, respect for Dharam ji. It’s been a tremendous loss to all of us. Watching him for one last time would mean the world to all of us as fans and cinegoers. Also, it is Agastya’s film. Like I have known Ananya, I have known Agastya,” KJo said.
This comes a day after it was announced
that Ikkis, which was scheduled to hit theatres on December 25, will now be released a week later. Fans will now be able to watch the movie on January 1, 2025.
What Do We Know About Ikkis?
Helmed by the National Award-winning filmmaker Sriram Raghavan, Ikkis shares the inspiring story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal – India’s youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra. Khetarpal took on the enemy head-on during the Battle of Basantar, destroying 10 Pakistani tanks before losing his life.
Sharing the trailer of Ikkis on social media, makers Maddock Films said, “Woh Ikkis Ka Tha, Ikkis Ka Hi Rahega! Dinesh Vijan and Maddock Films present #Ikkis, an untold true story of India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee – Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal directed by Sriram Raghavan. Share your #QissaAtIkkis because every legendary story starts young. In cinemas December 2025! (sic).”
Accompanying Agastya Nanda, the project will also see Simar Bhatia, Dharmendra, Jaideep Ahlawat, Sikandar Kher, and Deepak Dobriyal in significant roles, along with others.
