The WWE Performance Centre once again hosted an exciting episode of WWE NXT on Tuesday, September 23. It was the final NXT episode ahead of the much-anticipated premier live event, No Mercy.
To spice up
the hype for the forthcoming PLE, the WWE invited some Total Nonstop Action (TNA) stars for the NXT episode, which set the ball rolling for several exciting duels on the night.
We had Oba Femi versus Trick Williams for a Title match-up, a Speed Tournament clash between Lainey Reid and Candice LeRae and a fierce Lights Out match between Myles Borne vs. Lexis King.
Here is how this week’s NXT episode panned out.
Oba Femi-Trick Williams No Result
The excitement was brewing in the air for a Title vs Title match between Oba Femi and Trick Williams for the TNA and NXT Championships. Apart from a packed crowd, also sitting in attendance for the clash were TNA stars like Mike Santana and Moose.
The two wrestlers unleashed some power-packed moves at each other and the intense clash looked all set for the most exciting end. However, the match finished without a result after Williams goaded Santana into attacking him, causing a disqualification.
It paved the way for an ugly brawl between TNA and NXT stars.
Can’t. Wait.
Oba Femi will defend the #WWENXT Championship against Ricky Saints THIS SATURDAY at #NXTNoMercy!

DarkState Wins Against Joe Hendry and Chase U
DarkState warriors Osiris Griffin, Saquon Shugars and Dion Lennox flexed their muscles in an exciting tag team face-off against Joe Hendry, Uriah Connors and Kale Dixon.
The team DarkState attacked from the beginning, attacking their opponents during their entrance. The Hendry-Connors-Dixon trio led a fightback in the contest, where the two teams produced heavy moves throughout.
In the dying stages, however, the dangerous group managed to isolate Connors and hit him with a signature Power Bomb to secure a pinfall.
Jordynne Grace Defeats Arianna Grace
The two Graces collided for supremacy in an aggressive fight, where Arianna surprised Jordynne by attacking her before the bell rang. Arianna seemed to be in control in the initial stage of the contest before Jordynne came back hard.
Among her series of moves, she produced a spinning powerbomb and tilted the scales her way. Jordynne soon went for a comfortable pinfall and bagged her win against Arianna.
Myles Borne Hammers Lexis King
During the much-anticipated Lights Out match, Borne attacked King just as his opponent was making his entrance. King fought his way back, but Borne maintained ascendancy once the two entered the ring.
Borne even thwarted several chair assaults from King. Later on, fortunes shifted the former’s way as he put King through a Slim Jim table with a jumping takedown for his win.
Reid Overcomes Candice LeRae
The women’s Speed Tournament also rolled along at this week’s NXT episode, with Reid taking on Candice LeRae. At stake was the chance to become the No.1 contender to take on Sol Ruca in the final round for the title.
The two wrestlers recognised the chance and gave each other a hard time. LeRae came up with a Gargano Escape against Reid and seemed to have gained control, but she was thwarted by her opponent.
Reid then unleashed a running knee to get a pinfall with 20 seconds left in the three-minute time limit.
Tavion Heights Defeat Ethan Page
Ethan Page challenged Dr Wagner Jr for a match before they entered the ring. In one of the shortest matches in recent NXT history, Page was left regretting his call after Wagner made him tap out in submission within a minute from the point the bell rang.
The winner later took his mask off, and it emerged that it was Tavion Heights all along.
