Jasprit Bumrah bowled Haris Rauf out and followed it with a dramatic send-off during the Asia Cup 2025 final between India and Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
Bumrah dismissed
Rauf for six runs in the 18th over of Pakistan’s innings, breaking his off stump with a fierce delivery. However, what grabbed the most attention was Bumrah’s gesture post-dismissal — he mimicked a “plane crashing down,” clearly responding to Rauf’s actions during the Super Fours stage earlier in the tournament.

Rauf had sparked controversy in the previous Super Fours match when he was seen making the same gesture towards Indian fans while positioned at the boundary. Multiple videos from the stands showed him taunting the crowd, an act widely interpreted as referencing the military conflict between India and Pakistan earlier in the year. This incident drew sharp criticism and further intensified the rivalry.
On Sunday, Bumrah’s fiery send-off was seen as retaliation. Rauf had edged a ball to the boundary earlier in the same over before his stumps were shattered, but Bumrah’s intent was unmistakable after taking the wicket.
Rauf has been no stranger to controversy in this tournament. During the Super Fours clash, he was also involved in a heated exchange with India’s young opener Abhishek Sharma, adding more tension to the already fierce competition.
