Multiple explosions occurred on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway after a truck carrying LPG cylinders caught fire following a collision with a tanker on Tuesday night. One person was killed in the accident, and
several are injured. The collision triggered multiple explosions as the gas cylinders began to burst. Horrific visuals show massive explosions and blazes erupting from the site.
The incident took place near Sawarda Puliya in Mauzamabad tehsil, Rajasthan. Traffic on the highway was halted to bring the situation under control. As per the officials, two to three persons, including the tanker driver, were injured in the incident.
IG Rahul Prakash said that trucks and trailers were parked near a dhaba when the chemical-laden tanker collided with one of the trucks. The LPG cylinders in the truck burst, and the tanker also caught fire.
On the way to the accident site on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway, Rajasthan deputy chief minister Prem Chand Bairwa said someone hit the truck carrying gas cylinders from behind. “The fire has been brought under control… According to the administration’s report, there have been no casualties… Ambulance is at the spot…,” he said, speaking to ANI news agency.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that disaster management teams remain engaged in conducting rescue operations. He added that the administration has been instructed to ensure that proper treatment is provided for the injured.
“The accident of a fire breaking out in a truck loaded with gas cylinders on the Jaipur-Ajmer National Highway in the Mauzamabad police station area of Jaipur Rural is extremely tragic. Fire brigade and disaster management teams are engaged in relief and rescue operations at the incident site,” the Rajasthan CM posted on X.
