Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna, has taken the box office by storm, receiving praise from audiences and celebrities alike. Among the ensemble cast is Gaurav Gera, who plays Mohammad Aalam, an undercover spy and informer aiding Hamza Ali Mazari (Ranveer) to infiltrate the antagonist’s gang.
Speaking to Zoom, Gaurav shared his admiration for director Aditya Dhar. “He’s such a beautiful, calm person on set. He’s in fact the best human being. Despite the production being of such a massive scale, not once did he lose his cool. He would just say ‘I have the best team so I don’t need to worry,’ and that gave us so much confidence,” he said.
Gaurav added that the director’s vision and leadership
were key in helping the actors deliver their best performances, contributing to the film’s growing popularity.
On Polarised Reactions and What to Expect in Dhurandhar 2
While Dhurandhar has mostly received positive reviews, some viewers have criticised it for allegedly being “Islamophobic.” Gaurav responded to such polarised reactions, urging critics to watch the film first. “I’d just tell those people that please go and watch the film first. I remember one social media post where it said ‘Dhurandhar redefines Indian cinema’ and I’d like to mention that here. Such movies come once in a while. And Aditya Dhar is in his own league of cinema. I’m so proud of him as an actor and an audience member,” he said.
With Dhurandhar 2 slated for release on March 19, 2026, Gaurav hinted at an even grander scale. “You’ll know! All I can assure is Dhurandhar 2 will take things on a larger scale. It’s bigger and better,” he teased. Addressing its clash with Yash-starrer Toxic, he added, “Both the films will make their way. A good film always finds its audience.”
