New Delhi, Apr 22 (PTI) The Delhi government is taking long-term steps to resolve waterlogging issues in Outer Delhi’s Palam, PWD Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh said on Wednesday.
Singh inaugurated a new double-lane bridge and reinforced concrete box bridges in Palam, which included strengthening the embankments of the Palam Link Drain.
“These projects will directly benefit thousands of families. Better drainage will reduce flooding, improved roads will ease congestion, and new water and sewer lines will improve daily living conditions in these areas,” Singh said.
Strengthening the Palam Link Drain will improve flood control and reduce overflow risks during the monsoon.
The newly constructed culvert bridges will ease local movement and improve accessibility
across the drain, he added.
“Together, these projects aim to solve everyday civic challenges — waterlogging, traffic congestion and gaps in basic services that residents have faced for years,” Singh said.
The Delhi Jal Board launched an Rs 8 crore project to lay new water and sewer lines in Mahavir Enclave, Ramphal Chowk, Madhu Vihar, and Sadh Nagar, addressing pending water supply and sanitation issues in these densely populated areas. PTI SSM ASD ASD
