Delhi, Aug 10 (PTI) Senior IAS officer Gyanesh Bharti has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, effective immediately, according to an order from the Union Home Ministry.
Bharti was serving as the deputy election commissioner.
Earlier in the day, the 1998-batch IAS officer of the Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram, and Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre was repatriated to his parent cadre by the order of the Appointments Committee of the cabinet on the request of the Ministry of Home Affairs, an order issued by the Personnel Ministry said.
In an order, the Home Ministry appointed Bharti as the new Chief Secretary of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. PTI ABS AKV MPL MPL
