Lucknow, May 30 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh, which has been reeling from extreme heatwave conditions, experienced relief as rainfall brought the temperature down in parts of the state.
State capital Lucknow recorded a maximum temperature of 34 degrees Celsius, 6.1 degrees below the normal mark, and a low of 24.5 degrees Celsius, 1 degree below the normal mark, the meteorological department said on Saturday.
Rainfall was recorded in Bahraich (18.0 mm), Muzaffarnagar (12.2 mm), Lakhimpur Kheri (5.0 mm), Najibabad (3.0 mm), Meerut (0.6 mm) and in traces in Moradabad.
Moradabad was the hottest place in the state, as mercury soared to 38.5 degrees Celsius.
Thunderstorms/lightning accompanied by gusty winds are very likely at isolated places over the state, the meteorological
