Indian T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav opened up on the support he gets from his missus as he reflected on their journey together and his rise through the ranks in the sport.

his wife, Devisha Shetty, has played in his incredible journey, going as far as calling her the best decision of his life.
“She has always been behind the scenes,” Yadav said.
“I have saved my wife’s name on my phone as ‘the best decision of my life’. She has played a big role because we started talking about cricket when we got married,” the skipper added.
“She knew I was playing domestic cricket and she was following that. When we were dating, she told me, ‘You are playing at a good level but what’s your goal?’ I said, ‘I have to play for India.’ She asked, ‘How would you be able to play with such habits?’ So that made me think. I started to fix timings and gave up late nights,” Yadav revealed.
“She said, ‘You work hard Monday to Friday. Saturday, Sunday you take a break.’ The plan took off from there,” he added.
Yadav also opened up on the time how the duo met each other and added that Devika took time to warm up to him but once they started clicking, the couple started hitting it out of the park.
“I still remember I went to meet a friend at Podar College. One of my friends waved to her and I asked my friend to introduce me to her. She didn’t seem impressed,” the T20 captain said.
“Then we started talking, taking an interest in each other and then our story started taking a lovely turn,” he added.
