Kapil Sharma has been hosting comedy shows since 2013 and ever since, several people have attended the shoot of much-loved episodes in Mumbai’s Film City. But do you know you can be a part of Kapil’s ongoing The Great Indian Kapil Show for free? Let’s find out how.
In a new interview, actor Vikalp Mehta, who has worked on a few episodes of Kapil’s show, revealed that the audience is not required to pay for their tickets to appear on the show. “I am not a hundred per cent sure, but as far as I know, no money is charged to be on the show,” he told YTMahendra Podcast’s YouTube channel.
“For instance, the shoot starts at 10 am, and it will go on till 8 pm or perhaps till 11 pm, so they need the same faces in the audience who can be professional and sit
in the same place for these many hours and clap with just as much enthusiasm. They need audiences that will take instructions from them. They pay that audience and fill up the room. It’s the same with most TV shows. They are provided with food and water,” the actor added.
Vikalp also clarified that while some audience members are young artists, others are invited as guests via invitation. Re-confirming that one does not need to pay for the tickets, the actor stated, “Voh scam hai, vaisa koi hai hi nahi system (That is deception. That system does not exist.)”
Kapil Sharma is currently hosting The Great Indian Kapil Show, which streams on Netflix. It premiered in June this year and also features Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda and Sunil Grover among others. Archana Puran Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu also appear as special guests on the show.
Recently, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) also sent a stern warning to Kapil Sharma, asking him not to use ‘Bombay’ or ‘Bambai’ instead of ‘Mumbai’ on his popular show. The party asked Kapil to ensure the usage of ‘Mumbai’ on his show and threatened to launch an agitation if the practice is not followed.
