Tension over a school fee hike in Mumbai took a disturbing turn after a woman parent alleged that principal at a private school made an obscene and derogatory remark. The allegation has emerged from Witty
International School in Borivali where parents had gathered to question the revised fees.
A video, circulating widely online, features a woman who details her allegations against the school principal. The clip has led to a massive backlash online with social media users demanding action against the principal.
Parents’ Allegations At Borivali School
“Toh waha ke jo principal hai – koi bhi bolo, principal bolo, coordinator bolo. Kisi ne sawaal puch bhi liya ki ‘Ma’am aapne itna fees kyu badha diya?’ Toh wo jawab dete hai ki, ‘Aap hai na apni wife ko humare paas bhej dena, aap kamane ka kaam karo’ (So the principal there—call him principal or coordinator, whatever. If someone even asks a question like, ‘Ma’am, why have you increased the fees so much?’ then the reply is, ‘You send your wife to us, you focus on earning’),” the woman says in the video.
In the same video, another male parent is also heard raising concerns about the revised fee structure. He highlighted the figures being charged for lower classes and questioned the logic behind the increase.
He said, “for 1st standard, they are asking for 2,20,000 fees, even after the revision, it is 2,05,000, so, I said, this is 48 per cent high, they said, last year we took 2 lakh rupees from the first one, now, we have put 10 pr cent on it.”
The clip was shared by NCMIndia Council For Men Affairs on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption: “Now this is really extreme. Online Reactions Highlight Public anger
Several users expressed outrage and concern in the comment section.
One user commented, “This is deeply disturbing and heartbreaking. It shows how far some people have fallen, completely crossing every line of humanity and decency.”
Another said, “Private schools’ administration’s attitude for fees hikes.”
“Sickness beyond forgiveness. Arrest him,” a person demanded.
“Government & authorities should view education as a social responsibility rather than a business, ensuring strict adherence to laws. Parents must organise to protest, seek legal advice & explore alternative options. It is essential to keep education accessible & equitable for all, someone else pointed out.
“Yes, there are such people in the school here; they have no respect for parents, they just want the fees,” an individual wrote.
BJP MLA Response And Inquiry
Following the complaints, Borivali MLA Sanjay Upadhyay said he had written to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and raised concerns about unauthorised fee hikes by private schools.
He later stated that the Education Department responded on December 19 with official communication and supporting documents.
Sharing the update on X, he wrote: “The Maharashtra government, taking serious note of the complaints from students and parents, has initiated action against Witty International & World School, Borivali (W.). On 18/12/2025, I had submitted a written letter to the Honourable Chief Minister Devemdra Fadanavis ji regarding financial irregularities and unauthorised fee hikes in the school. In response, on 19/12/2025, an immediate reply along with an official letter and related documents was received from the Education Department.”
