Kozhikode (Kerala), Jul 19 (PTI) A 38-year-old man was found dead in a pool of blood at his house near Palayam Market here on Sunday, police said.
The deceased was identified as Biju B, who was found dead in a room adjacent to his house.
According to police, Biju’s family rears cows.
Biju’s mother went to the room to wake him up for milking their cow and found it locked from the outside at around 3.30 am.
When there was no response from inside, and Biju was not found outside, she entered the room and found him lying in a pool of blood.
Officials from the Kozhikode Kasaba Police Station soon reached the spot and conducted a preliminary examination of the area.
Police said there were multiple injury marks on Biju’s body.
A case of murder has been registered,
and an investigation has been launched.
Police officials said they are examining CCTV footage from the area as part of the probe.
They also said Biju was known to the police and had assisted them in anti-narcotics operations in the area.
The body will be handed over to the relatives after the post-mortem examination, police added. PTI TBA TBA ROH
