In a shocking incident reported from Rajasthan’s Alwar, a newlywed bride duped her in-laws and allegedly ran away with gold-silver jewellery and around Rs 30,000 cash. As per the reports, she also served phenyl-laced Khichdi to her mother-in-law.
The incident took place in 2025 after Rekha got married to the victim, Vikramjeet. Before their wedding, the duo signed a live-in relationship agreement on May 9, as Rekha was already married. According to a report by Dainik Bhaskar, Rekha had two children from the previous marriage that took place in 2015.
According to the victim, he was told that Rekha’s divorce is under proceedings and the paperwork will be over soon. Trusting this, he married Rekha on May 26 in a Gurudwara. However, soon after the wedding,
her behaviour changed.
Vikramjeet further alleged that Rekha mixed phenyl into his mother’s food as a part of conspiracy. When the entire family rushed to the hospital, she ran away with cash and jewellery.
When the victim’s family informed Rekha’s family about it, her aunt reportedly said, “this is our business, you can’t do anything about it.” They also demanded Rs 3 lakh from the victim’s family and threatened them with false police cases.
An investigation is underway into the matter and the details will be shared shortly.
