Nepal authorities arrest Indian national for carrying over INR 7.9 lakhs

Jun 7 (PTI) Authorities in Nepal arrested an Indian national for carrying INR 7.9 lakhs without any supporting documents, police said on Sunday.

The 59-year-old man, identified as Bhima Srinivas from Andhra Pradesh, was arrested on Saturday at the domestic terminal of the Gautam Buddha International Airport at Rupandehi in Lumbini province.

According to the statement issued by the police, INR 7,95,000 was recovered from Srinivas’ possession during the security check when he was about to board a Budha Air flight heading towards Kathmandu.

The Indian national failed to present any supporting documents for the cash he was carrying.

The police have initiated an investigation into the matter, taking him into custody. PTI SBP SKS SKS
