Diwali is when many Indian families finally replace an old single door fridge, and with festive cooking, sweets and guests on the way, a bigger double door fridge makes a real difference. Amazon has cut prices on most popular models during the sale.
We have picked eight double door refrigerators under Rs. 40,000, from compact 235-litre models for small families to 368-litre fridges for large ones. All of them are frost free with inverter compressors, and every pick is in stock and rated 4 stars or higher.

Which size is right for you?
A fridge between 230 and 260 litres is enough for two to three people. Families of four should look at 300 litres or more, like the Godrej, IFB 331L or Bosch. If you often host guests or cook in bulk during festivals, a bigger fridge with convertible modes gives you the most room to manage.
Tips before you buy
Check the energy rating. A 3-star fridge costs less to run every month than a 2-star or 1-star model. Over the years, the savings add up.
Look at the warranty. Most brands cover only the compressor for 10 years. The Godrej’s 5-year comprehensive warranty and IFB’s 4-year super warranty cover much more.
Measure your kitchen. Double door fridges are taller and wider than single door ones. Measure the space and leave room at the back for air to flow.
Think about power cuts. If your area sees frequent outages, look for a fridge with long cooling retention, like the IFB models here.
Stack bank offers. Check the product page for bank discounts, no cost EMI and exchange offers on your old fridge.
