Telugu actor Sivaji has found himself in hot water following his comments on women’s clothing. Several actors have condemned his words, and now actress Payal Rajput too has strongly criticised him for
moral policing women. Her reaction has come amid growing outrage against the actor over his remarks at the pre-release event of his upcoming film *Dhandoraa*.
Taking to her social media account, Payal expressed her discomfort and shared, “Since yesterday, I have been feeling really uncomfortable hearing the remarks made by Shivaji Garu at the event. His harsh words about women and comments on how they should dress were really concerning.”
Payal further continued and questioned his authority to make such remarks, adding, “I don’t know how he has so much audacity to tell us what we should wear.”
I hope it’s okay to express my feelings. I felt uncomfortable hearing some remarks about women made by Shivaji Garu on a public platform.
I must admit it made me feel uneasy, especially regarding his comments on women. #weknowbetter 🙏🏼 pic.twitter.com/eDfXsLT4Hv— paayal rajput (@starlingpayal) December 24, 2025
Payal continued, “We should request producers and directors to make films featuring sarees because only that is appropriate according to him.” She added, “How can you assume you have the right to make decisions for us?”
She concluded the note saying, “That video provoked me somehow; hence, I made this video.”
While posting the video, she attached it with a caption that read, “I hope it’s okay to express my feelings. I felt uncomfortable hearing some remarks about women made by Shivaji Garu on a public platform. I must admit it made me feel uneasy, especially regarding his comments on women. #WeKnowBetter”
What did Sivaji say?
During a promotional event for his upcoming film Dhandoraa, Sivaji, while appreciating anchor Sravanthi Chokkarapu’s saree, said, “I request all heroines not to wear revealing outfits. Please wear sarees or dresses that cover the body fully. Beauty lies in complete attire or a saree, not in displaying physical assets.”
“People may not openly say anything because they feel it is your freedom, but inside they may not like it. They feel like saying, ‘You wretched woman! Why are you wearing such awful clothes? Couldn’t you wear some decent clothes instead?’ A woman is like nature. When nature is beautiful, we respect it. A woman is like my mother, whom I hold close to my heart. Freedom is precious; don’t lose it. People will respect you based on your conduct. Glamour should have limits; it should not cross a certain line,” Sivaji added.
