In an unprecedented turn of events, an eight-year-old boy from Madhya Pradesh’s Singrauli district called up the police emergency number 112 to complain about his mother and sister tying him with a rope and beating him after he asked for Rs 20 to buy a packet of chips.
A video of the child’s complaint has gone viral on social media platforms. The video shows the child complaining, and the police official gently explaining to him, drawing attention and reactions from netizens.
As per India Today, the incident is of Chitarwai Kala village under Khutar outpost of Kotwali police station. When the child reportedly asked his mother for Rs 20 to buy a packet of Kurkure, the mother and sister got angry and allegedly started beating him.
However, the child
called up the police to seek help. Even the policemen on duty were surprised to hear the child’s complaint on the phone. When the child started crying on the phone, the police consoled him lovingly and promised to reach him.
On receiving the complaint, Dial 112 police personnel Umesh Vishwakarma rushed to the spot. He called the boy and his mother, counselled them, and instructed the mother not to beat the child. He also bought Kurkure for the child.
