The trailer of Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, director Anil Ravipudi’s upcoming Sankranthi entertainer, dropped on Sunday evening and instantly signalled a return to the filmmaker’s familiar blend of mass
humour, romance, and over-the-top action. Headlined by Chiranjeevi and Nayanthara, the film also features a special cameo by Venkatesh, adding to the festive appeal.
Chiranjeevi’s Dual Avatar: From Domestic Life To Action Mode
Running for two minutes and forty-two seconds, the trailer introduces Chiranjeevi as Shankara Vara Prasad, a former RAW agent who now serves as the country’s National Security Advisor. Interestingly, the once-feared officer appears to have settled into a quiet domestic routine—washing clothes, cooking meals, and living a low-key life.
That calm, however, doesn’t last long. The trailer swiftly flips the switch as Shankara sheds his lungis for sharp suits, stepping back into action with trademark swagger and bone-crunching punches. The tonal shift—from homely comedy to mass action—is classic Ravipudi territory.
Nayanthara Enters As ‘Dynamic Lady’ Sashirekha
Nayanthara is introduced as Sashirekha, described as a “dynamic lady” who becomes both Shankara’s romantic interest and his biggest challenge. Their equation plays out through banter, ego clashes, and exaggerated romantic pursuits, with Shankara going from confident suitor to desperate pleader in his attempts to win her over.
The trailer also features Ravipudi’s familiar brand of humour, including a dated marriage joke that feels very much in line with his past films—predictable for some, comforting for fans of his style.
Venkatesh’s Mass Cameo And Meta Banter
One of the trailer’s biggest crowd-pleasers is the surprise appearance of Venkatesh, who makes a full-fledged “mass entry.” The final moments see the two veteran stars engaging in playful, self-aware banter about alternating between mass entertainers and family-oriented films—a nod to their respective careers that’s likely to draw whistles in theatres.
Film Details And Release Plans
Directed by Anil Ravipudi and produced by Sahu Garapati and Sushmita Konidela, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu marks Ravipudi’s first collaboration with both Chiranjeevi and Nayanthara. The film’s music is composed by Bheems Ceciroleo, with Catherine Tresa, VTV Ganesh, Harsha, and others appearing in key roles.
Ahead of the trailer launch, the team visited Tirupati to seek blessings. The film is slated for a theatrical release on January 12, aiming to cash in on the Sankranthi holiday season. It is set to face stiff competition at the box office, clashing with major releases including The Raja Saab and Jana Nayagan.
With its mix of action, romance, and meta humour, the trailer makes it clear that Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu is designed as a full-blown festive crowd-pleaser—very much in Anil Ravipudi’s comfort zone.
