Delhi Police Issues Notices To Social Media Platforms Over Offensive Posts Against PM Modi During Jantar Mantar Protest

Delhi Police has initiated a crackdown on offensive social media posts targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi that were allegedly shared during the Jantar Mantar protest and the subsequent violence in the national capital, sources in the police said.

According to sources, Delhi Police has issued notices to several social media platforms directing them to remove posts and videos containing abusive language against the Prime Minister.

The action comes after police identified multiple posts uploaded during the protests and the violence that allegedly contained offensive remarks directed at the prime minister.

Sources said Delhi Police is continuously monitoring various social media platforms to identify such content. Upon detecting offensive posts,

notices are being sent to the respective platforms, asking them to take down the content in accordance with the law.

The Delhi Police’s social media monitoring team is maintaining constant surveillance over online platforms to identify and flag objectionable content, sources added.

The protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, which witnessed massive participation from students and youth over the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak, ended on Saturday after the Centre accepted several key demands.

These included directing Delhi Police to withdraw all FIRs registered against protesters, constituting a high-powered task force to reform the National Testing Agency (NTA), and assuring strict action against those involved in examination paper leaks.
