Kerala Guv, CM congratulate team behind Vikram-1 pvt rocket mission

Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 18 (PTI) Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar and Chief Minister V D Satheesan on Saturday congratulated the entire team behind the successful launch of the country’s maiden private orbital rocket, Vikram-1.

Vikram-1 was launched into space by Skyroot Aerospace and it successfully placed multiple technology demonstration payloads and postcards into a low earth orbit.

Arlekar, in a Facebook post, termed it a “historic milestone” in India’s space journey.

He said that it showcases the power of innovation, scientific excellence, and public-private collaboration.

“Heartiest congratulations to Skyroot Aerospace, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), IN-SPACe, and the entire team behind the successful Vikram-1 mission.

This historic achievement is a proud milestone in India’s space journey, showcasing the power of innovation, scientific excellence, and public-private collaboration. May this success inspire countless young minds to dream big and propel Bharat to even greater heights in space exploration,” he said in his post.

Satheesan, in a post on ‘X’, termed it as a “monumental feat” for India’s space ecosystem.

He also noted that with the launch of the rocket from Sriharikota, Hyderabad-based Skyroot Aerospace has cemented its place as the country’s “first fully private orbital space mission.” It also showcases the capability of India’s private sector in cutting-edge aerospace technology and space exploration, he said.

“In a monumental feat for India’s space ecosystem, Hyderabad-based Skyroot Aerospace has successfully launched its orbital rocket, Vikram-1, from Sriharikota under #MissionAgaman, cementing its place as India’s first fully private orbital space mission.
