Gurugram, Aug 9 (PTI) In view of the safety of Kanwariyas and Dak Kanwariyas, Gurugram Police has issued a traffic advisory for heavy vehicles, effective from August 9 to 11, to ensure smooth traffic flow and the safe movement of pilgrims. According to the advisory, heavy vehicles moving from Delhi through Gurugram towards Rajasthan and Jhajjar, Rewari, Pataudi, Nuh and Faridabad in Haryana are advised to avoid the main corridors and instead use the Dwarka Expressway and the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway.
“To ensure that Kanwariyas, Dak Kanwariyas, the general public and motorists do not face any inconvenience during their journeys and to facilitate the orderly management of traffic, the policemen deployed on the routes have been instructed
to control traffic to make the Yatra smooth,” the advisory read.
A Dak Kanwariya is a devotee who carries Ganga water from Haridwar to their destination without resting, often covering the journey at a fast pace. PTI COR SMV SMV ARI ARI
