Factory owner among 2 killed in road accident in UP's Shamli

Muzaffarnagar, Oct 22 (PTI) Two people, including a factory owner, were killed and two others seriously injured after their car overturned following a collision with a road divider in Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli district, police said on Thursday.

The accident took place near a flyover on the bypass under the Kairana police station limits on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Sandeep Kumar Duhan (40), a blanket factory owner from Haryana’s Panipat, and Ankit Kumar (22), an employee at the factory.

Circle Officer Hemant Kumar said the victims were travelling from Panipat to Haridwar when the accident occurred.

The injured were taken to a higher medical centre in serious condition, he said.

The bodies have been sent for postmortem examination, and
