Veteran actor Satish Shah’s death has shocked the industry. The actor, who leaves behind a legacy of timeless laughter, passed away at the age of 74 on October 25. Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit confirmed the news
of his death on Instagram on October 25. In his video, Ashoke Pandit revealed that Satish Shah passed away due to kidney failure. His health suddenly deteriorated at home, and he was rushed to Hinduja Hospital, where he took his last breath. Now friends, family, and fans have gathered for the veteran star’s last rites.
His Sarabhai vs Sarabhai co-star Ratna Pathak Shah, along with Rupali Ganguly and Sumeet Raghavan, are among the first ones to arrive at the actor’s funeral. Anang Desai, known for the famous comedy show Khichdi, was also snapped arriving for Satish Shah’s funeral. The producer of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai and actor JD Majethia also reached to pay respect to the departed soul.

Satish Shah was known for his impeccable talent, and while he has given some of the most iconic roles and a ton of childhood memories, it was his role of Indravadan Sarabhai that struck a chord with the audience. The actor shared a good rapport with the cast of his show, and after his demise, almost every member of the show—from Ratna Pathak Shah, Rupali Ganguly, Sumeet Raghavan, Rajesh Kumar to Deven Bhojani—came together to bid adieu to their friend and close ally, giving a final goodbye.
PM Narendra Modi mourns Satish Shah’s death
Sharing his grief over the loss of the veteran actor, PM Modi wrote on his official X (formerly known as Twitter) timeline, “Deeply saddened by the passing of Shri Satish Shah Ji. He will be remembered as a true legend of Indian entertainment (sic).” Offering his condolences to the family of the deceased, PM added, “His effortless humour and iconic performances brought laughter into countless lives. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti (sic).”
Many well-known names from Bollywood, such as Kajol, R. Madhavan, Karan Johar, Anupam Kher, and others, took to social media to pay their tributes to the late actor.
