What is the story about?
Birmingham,
Jun 14 (PTI) Vice-captain Smriti Mandhana made a graceful 68 and Richa Ghosh a cavalier 34 as India overcame middle-order lethargy to post a competitive 170 for six in their ICC T20 World Cup match here on Sunday.
Opting to bat first, India were rocked by the early dismissals of Shafali Verma and Jemimah Rodrigues.
But Mandhana, whose fifty came in 44 balls, and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur (36) shared an 91-run alliance for the fourth wicket to haul India out of the hole.
Richa (34 off 17b, 5×4, 1×6) played some big shots in the death overs as India crossed the 150-run mark.
Brief scores: India: 170/6 (Smriti Mandhana 68, Harmanpreet Kaur 36, Richa Ghosh 34) vs Pakistan. PTI UNG KHS
