'Torchbearers Of India's Aspirations': Mukesh Ambani Tells University Students To Drive The Future

Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani on Thursday urged India’s youth to drive the nation’s future amid rising global technological competition. Ambani delivered a motivating address to graduates

at the 12th convocation of Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU) in Gandhinagar.

Addressing the graduating class, Ambani spoke of the transformative role the next generation will play in shaping the country’s destiny. “The next generation will change India,” he said, urging students to embrace innovation and lifelong learning in an era of rapid technological change.

He further characterised the young graduates as torchbearers of national aspirations, carrying the hopes of 1.4 billion Indians as they step into professional life. “You are torch bearers of India’s aspirations,” he told the students, adding that their achievements signal the start of a broader journey in the “university of life.”

Ambani, who also serves as the Founder-President and Chairman of the university’s Board of Governors, underscored the urgent need for India to become “atmanirbhar” (self-reliant) in cutting-edge fields. “India must become atmanirbhar… there is stiff global competition in AI,” he said, highlighting artificial intelligence as a strategic area where Indian talent must excel and compete on the world stage.

Ambani also celebrated the sense of accomplishment among the graduates, observing, “Today is your day… I see the excitement and deep sense of achievement” on their faces.

Throughout his address, he encouraged graduates not only to strive for individual excellence but also to contribute to India’s mission of technological and economic leadership. “Today, we pledge to our PM that we are even more determined to do better, make Indian prouder and PDEU greater in the years to come,” he added.
