Shraddha Kapoor Injured On Eetha Set, Shoot Called Off: Report

Shraddha Kapoor is making all the headlines after she began shooting for her upcoming biopic drama Eetha, based on the legendary Tamasha artiste Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar. But now, reports have it that soon after the shooting of the film began, director Laxman Utekar had to hit pause last week after the actress fractured the toe of her left foot.

As per a report in Midday,Shraddha Kapoor was performing a folk dance form that Narayangaonkar was known for, Lavani, and while dancing, she lost her balance and fractured her left foot’s toe. According to the portal, a source revealed, “Lavani music characteristically has fast-paced beats and a quick tempo. In this number composed by Ajay-Atul, Shraddha — sporting a vibrant Nauvari saree, heavy

jewellery, and a kamarpatta — had to perform a series of steps in succession to the beats of the dholki. To look the part of a young Vithabai, the actor has put on over 15 kilos. In one step, she mistakenly put all her weight on her left foot and lost her balance as a result.”

The source further revealed that while Utekar called off the shoot, Shraddha was keen not to waste the day and advised shooting close-ups. “After returning to Mumbai, they began to film on a set at Madh Island, where Shraddha shot some emotional sequences. However, after a couple of days, her pain aggravated, and they had to discontinue the shoot. The unit will regroup two weeks later when she has completely recovered,” the source added.

A powerful role for Shraddha Kapoor

Eetha promises to showcase Shraddha in one of her most intense and performance-driven roles to date. The actress, who last appeared in Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank (2024), has been selective with her recent projects, focusing on scripts that allow her to explore diverse characters.

Even without a theatrical release this year, Shraddha remains highly visible thanks to her strong social media presence. With over 94 million followers on Instagram, she often connects with fans through heartfelt posts.
