Pakistan condemns attacks by Yemen's Houthis against Saudi Arabia

Islamabad, Sep 8 (PTI) Pakistan on Tuesday strongly condemned the attacks by Yemen’s Houthis against civilian and economic targets in Saudi Arabia’s Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan and Najran regions.

“These attacks are a flagrant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Kingdom, pose a threat to peace and stability of the entire region, and undermine efforts aimed at securing a peaceful and durable resolution of the conflict in Yemen,” the Foreign Office said in a statement.

Pakistan reiterated its unwavering support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, security and prosperity of Saudi Arabia, and announced that it will stand in complete solidarity with the Gulf Kingdom.

“Pakistan also conveys its sincere wishes for the

swift and full recovery of all those injured in the attacks,” it said.

It added that consistent with the UN Charter and international law, Pakistan fully supports the Kingdom’s legitimate right to take all necessary measures to defend its territory, protect its citizens and residents and safeguard its national assets against any threat.

Pakistan has been and will continue to make all efforts to achieve lasting peace and stability in the region, according to FO.

In August, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye signed a key joint defence agreement under which an attack against one of them will be treated as an attack against all of them. PTI SH ZH ZH
