Arasan, the Silambarasan TR starrer crime action drama, is generating significant anticipation ever since its official announcement. Helmed by Vetri Maaran and backed by Kalaippuli S Thanu, the film is the latest
addition to director’s Vada Chennai universe. As fans await to see Silambarasan in this new avatar, the makers of Arasan have now dropped a new 5-minute-long promo of the film.
The promo was exclusively released on October 16 for select theatres across Tamil Nadu and offers a glimpse into a gritty world of Arasan.
Arasan 5-Minute-Long Promo
According to Cinema Express, in the promo, Silambarasan appears in double roles: a young man with a fashionable, quirky style and an older man with greying hair. The older version of his character appears in court, accused of three murders. During the courtroom scene, Silambarasan’s character speaks with filmmaker Nelson Dilipkumar, who plays himself. He tells Nelson to develop a film based on his life story and even asks him to cast Dhanush in the lead role.
To note, the newly released promo of the film concludes with the phrase “An untold tale from the world of Vada Chennai,” confirming that Arasan is situated in the same universe as the 2018 film starring Dhanush.
Reports suggest that the promo will be released on YouTube on October 17.
