An Agra-based techie has turned to Reddit for job leads after claiming he was laid off as his company became “fully dependent on Claude Code”. With 3 years and 2 months of experience, he is currently serving his notice period and exploring opportunities across frontend, backend and full-stack roles.
Sharing his experience on Reddit’s r/developersIndia, the professional said he was laid off during the first week of August. According to him, the company’s reliance on Anthropic’s AI-powered coding tool had grown significantly, with even product and customer-facing teams using Claude Code in their work.
“I have 3 years and 2 months of working experience in Angular and React,” he said, adding that he recently started learning Java and Spring Boot after
noticing what he felt were fewer openings in frontend development.
He explained that he is now trying to transition towards backend and full-stack roles to broaden his opportunities in an increasingly competitive job market.
The techie also highlighted his technical background, saying he has a good grasp of Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) and System Design. He had also participated in Google Summer of Code (GSoC) in 2022 and mentored participants in 2023.
With his notice period underway, he appealed to fellow Reddit users for referrals and job leads, asking those who were hiring or could refer him to reach out. He also said he was willing to share his resume through direct messages and welcomed advice and suggestions from the community.
The post resonated with several developers who said they were facing similar difficulties in the current technology job market.
One user, who appeared to be a final-year engineering student, sought advice from the techie despite acknowledging that it might not be the ideal time to ask. “Hey man , this is not right time to talk this but.. i entered in last year of engg. any tips on how to make strong fundamentals i have to just revise things but finding it hard to manage everything college exams , projects, dsa, etc,” said one user.
Another developer shared that they had been struggling to land a role despite having three years of experience and a diverse technical skill set. “I’m targeting 11LPA with 3yoe. It’s been two months since my LWD and no offer. 🙂 Tech stack is: React, Nest, next, Laravel, flutter with AWS,” said another.
A third user said their circumstances were almost identical, commenting, “Same stack and same boat mate,” while another added, “Going through the same situation with 3y 2m of experience.”
