Delhi Traffic Advisory: These Roads Will See Restrictions As Parliament's Monsoon Session Begins

The Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory for Monday, asking commuters to avoid several key roads and intersections in central Delhi due to the monsoon session of Parliament, which will begin on July 20.

According to the advisory, heavy traffic movement and restrictions are expected in the New Delhi Range from July 20. Commuters have been advised to avoid Rafi Marg, Motilal Nehru Marg, Maulana Azad Road, K Kamaraj Marg, Raisina Road, Rajendra Prasad Road, Parliament Street, Ashoka Road, Talkatora Road, Pandit Pant Marg and Rakab Ganj Gurudwara Road.

Traffic police have asked commuters to avoid major junctions, including Vijay Chowk, Boat Club, Rail Bhawan Roundabout, Sunehri Masjid Roundabout, Patel Chowk Roundabout, Boota Singh Roundabout, Prime

Chowk Roundabout, GRG Roundabout and Jalebi Chowk Roundabout.

As alternate routes, commuters have been advised to use Janpath, Man Singh Road, Akbar Road, Teen Murti Marg, Shanti Path, Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad Road, Kamal Ataturk Marg, Panchsheel Marg, Vinay Marg, Outer Circle in Connaught Place, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, RML Roundabout, Mother Teresa Crescent Road, 11 Murti and Sardar Patel Marg.

Delhi Traffic Police has urged motorists to follow traffic rules, cooperate with personnel deployed on the ground and use official traffic updates and helpline services for real-time information.

No Permission For Sansad March

At the same time, Delhi Police has also clarified that no permission has been sought or granted for any proposed Sansad March on July 20.

In a public advisory, police said prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) are in force across the New Delhi district, except at the designated protest site at Jantar Mantar.

The advisory stated that protest marches, processions, demonstrations and assemblies of five or more people are prohibited in the district unless prior permission has been obtained for protests at Jantar Mantar. Police also warned that anyone violating the prohibitory orders could face action under Section 223 of the BNSS and other applicable provisions of law.

Citizens have been advised not to participate in unauthorised gatherings or processions and to cooperate with police in maintaining public order, safety and security.
