Before that blockbuster encounter, India must get past Sri Lanka, while Pakistan need to overcome Bangladesh, with both games scheduled to be played simultaneously.
India have been dominant in the group stage, beating the UAE by 234 runs, Pakistan by 90 runs and Malaysia by 315 runs. Pakistan, on the other hand, have only lost to India, registering victories over Malaysia by 294 runs and UAE by 70 runs.
India’s semifinal opponent, Sri Lanka, have played three games, winning two and losing one, while Pakistan’s opponent, Bangladesh, remain unbeaten.
