Rohit Chandel was arrested after he was accused of stalking and harassing a 16-year-old girl. A case was registered against him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. After two months in jail, he walked out on bail on September 11, and following his exit, he posted his first picture with a spiritual caption.
Chandel posted a picture of himself dressed in a traditional outfit, a white dhoti and janeu (white thread from shoulder to waist), standing in the middle of the sea. The actor captioned the post, “Yato Dharmastato Jayaḥ,” which means, “Where there is righteousness, there is victory.”
Earlier, the actor was snapped following his bail in the POCSO case. The actor was seen
wearing a pink T-shirt paired with white trousers. He was seen speaking with his lawyer and family members. Following his bail, Rohit’s family shared a note that reads, “Our family feels a profound sense of relief and deep gratitude today as the honourable court has granted bail to Rohit.”

The 29-year-old actor was arrested by the Pant Nagar Police from his Dahisar residence on July 10. He was later produced before a special POCSO court, which remanded him to police custody. As per the FIR, the accused made repeated phone calls to the minor from his personal number as well as other mobile numbers despite her objections. The complaint also states that on July 5, the actor allegedly stopped the girl near her housing society, followed her, got into a verbal altercation, abused her and allegedly assaulted her.
Therefore, along with the POCSO Act, he was also booked under Sections 78 and 115(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deal with stalking and voluntarily causing hurt.
Chandel had earlier faced setbacks in his bid for bail, with discrepancies in the case documents reportedly becoming a point of concern. According to reports, his occupation was incorrectly mentioned as “businessman” rather than actor, while his religion was also allegedly recorded incorrectly in the chargesheet. His medical records reportedly contained another error, listing his marital status as “married” even though he has stated that he is unmarried.
